
Caleb Knier
Caleb Knier serves as chief financial officer for HM Insurance Group (HM) and supports the company’s strategic growth and financial performance goals. He is responsible for financial operations and financial oversight of HM’s businesses – working to drive the achievement of current year and multi-year financial commitments.
Caleb’s areas of expertise include U.S. GAAP accounting, financial planning and analysis and financial reporting. His specialized skills include health insurance (commercial, exchange, medicare advantage with part D and medicaid), stop loss insurance, reinsurance, mergers and acquisitions, Blue Cross Blue Shield plans and NAIC statutory accounting principles. Additionally, Caleb is experienced in process improvement, internal controls, auditing and risk assessment.
Caleb joined HM Insurance Group in 2018 in the role of vice president, Market Segment Finance and was named chief financial officer in 2019. Previously, he spent four years at Highmark Health as the vice president of financial accounting and reporting. Prior to joining Highmark, Caleb was a manager in the audit practice for PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he spent a number of years servicing the health insurance and financial services industries.
Caleb has a bachelor’s of science degree in Accounting from Penn State University. He is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
